The battery was fine, so I assume it is the engine. I tried to contact WORX via their email, but the reply stated something to the effect that due to high volume they were unable to respond to my email. So I called. And due to high volume I was prompted to leave my return phone number and they would respond by next business day. OK, so they did respond next business day. However their customer service was poor. I was responded to with quite a few "uh-huh, uh-huh, yeah". Very annoying for an engineer who knows the battery is charged and the item is defective. The nearest "authorized service representative" is 40 miles away and is only open the same hours I happen to work - you know 8-5, Monday-Friday. So as soon as I can take time off work, I will be loading the lawnmower into my car and taking the hour there, hour back trip. I was already forewarned there is a two week waiting period... I was between this mower and the Black and Decker and the difference for me was the power on demand system to conserve energy. I figured that could be worth the difference in delivery time since I thought that feature would be handy. I found an advertising video showing a lady pushing the mower along and turning a knob on the handle to make it louder and work harder on the tall grass. (this may have been the WG789 in retrospect) Unfortunately the knob isn't on the handle, rather the knob is down on the mower deck in front of the battery. This seems like it would make it a much less usefull feature as you have to stop and lean over and adjust it, I guess this is visible in the bove picture but there are no labels or decals to highlight it.
