Even though it wasn't this specific model (was a CMM1200), the specs are very similar and I wanted to offer some longer term insight into what the B&D mower is likely to offer: Pros - powerful enough to mow even long grass - 19" path was a good size for our small yard - switching from mulching to bagging was easily done, with the bag being a good size for clippings Cons - battery only lasts 2 1/2 years and now needs replacement (results may vary, but based on other postings, this seems consistent) - replacement battery is over $200 for either the B&D ($209 from authorized B&D service centre) or $190 for an aftermarket brands. - B&D service centre indicated to me that the replacement costs on older model batteries rises substantialy as inventories decline (this implies an increasing cost over time of owning a B&D mower as batteries will fail)... The first was the best, with long battery life; the 2nd was a model change and a complete dud - definitely not "new & improved." I decided when looking to purchase another mower to try a B&D rechargeable one more time due to the light weight, adequate power and battery life for my lawn size of 2500' prox. I'm hoping the battery longevity will be equal to my first mower, and if not this will by my last "green" mower. Ease of purchase and assembly from Amazon was great. |
